A savory stew
Serves 4
  1. salt and pepper meat generously, then brown it
  2. heat oil, saute onion until translucent, add garlic
  3. add tomato paste, cook and stir occassionally for 2 minutes. Add any other pastes here.
  4. add potatoes and carrots and whatever other vegetables, cook and stir for 3 minutes
  5. add the wine, stir, cook for 5 minutes
  6. add the stock and seasonings, bring to boil, reduce heat, cover, cook for 20 minutes
  7. remove lid, stir, cook for another 10 minutes, or until meat is tender and potatoes are cooked.
